Running back Chris Johnson was a full participant at practice Thursday for the first time since joining the New York Jets after recovering from off-season knee surgery. "I felt good," he said. "I felt no pain or anything like that." Johnson, who signed with the Jets in April, had surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee after last season. He played through the injury most of last season, when he ran for 1,077 yards -- the second-lowest total of his career. Johnson was limited throughout the off-season workouts and minicamp as the Jets tried to be cautious in getting him on the field. "Im ready to go do whatever they ask me to do," he said. Johnson, who rushed for 2,006 yards in 2009 with Tennessee, fumbled a handoff but showed off some of the speed that made him one of the leagues fastest players. He also lined up a handful of times at receiver, a spot where he could be frequently used with the Jets. Johnson had a career-high 57 receptions out of the backfield in 2011, and caught 42 passes last year despite dealing with the knee issue. With his speed, he could create big-time mismatches as a pass-catching back. "When you see Chris Johnson in the flat, theyre going to have to be mindful of that," wide receiver David Nelson said of opposing defences. "Theyre going to have to jump to that. When they do that, it opens up a lot of spaces and a lot of spots in the middle of the field. If they dont, hes going to take it to the house. "It opens up a whole different dimension for us, especially in the passing game." Fellow running back Chris Ivory was limited with a tweaked hamstring that coach Rex Ryan didnt believe was serious. Guard Willie Colon and linebacker Antwan Barnes, both on the active/physically unable to perform list while recovering from knee surgeries, worked out with trainers on the sideline during practice. Ryan indicated that Colon could return a lot sooner than Barnes. Rookie wide receiver Quincy Enunwa didnt finish practice with a hip injury. Air Max Plus Saldi . Air Max 97 Outlet GLASGOW -- Neil Lennon quit as Celtic manager on Thursday after winning five trophies in four years with the Scottish club. Lennon confirmed his decision to step down after his agent Martin Reilly said the former club captain needed a fresh challenge, and wanted "to look ahead to the next chapter of his career." Despite winning a third consecutive Scottish league, Lennon had reportedly been considering his position for some time because of uncertainties over the player budget for next season. "I have supported Celtic all my life and the club will always be part of me. However, I feel the time is now right to move on to a new challenge," said the 42-year-old Lennon, adding he will assist Celtic in the search for his successor. "As ever, we will need our fans support, and I am sure they will give the club and the new manager the same great backing which they gave to myself," he told the clubs website. Lennon was appointed manager in 2010 as a replacement for Tony Mowbray, and guided Celtic to three league titles and two Scottish Cups. He also led Celtic to the last 16 of the Champiions League and his players claimed a win over Barcelona in the group stage in November 2012.dddddddddddd Lennon is expected to continue his career in England, having been linked to clubs including West Bromwich Albion and Norwich. His agent, however, says Lennon has yet to accept a job offer. "He has nothing lined up. He just feels now is the time to move on to the next challenge," Reilly said. As a player, Lennon joined Celtic in 2000 and won five titles in seven seasons, and reached the UEFA Cup final in 2003. He left the club in 2007 to join Nottingham Forest but returned to Celtic Park a year later as a member of the coaching staff. Lennons reign was not without controversy as he received a four-match touchline ban following a spat with then Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist in March 2011. In other incidents the same year, a letter bomb addressed to the Celtic manager was intercepted by Royal Mail staff in 2011 and Lennon was attacked by a Hearts supporter. Former Celtic player Henrik Larsson, currently in charge of Swedish club Falkenbergs, is favoured to succeed Lennon. ' ' '
