Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Just seconds after the Baltimore Ravens wrapped up a Week 17 win over the Cleveland Browns, the fans at M&T Bank Stadium broke into a cheer. The Ravens are back in the playoffs. Joe Flacco tossed both of his touchdown passes in the fourth quarter and the Ravens rallied past the Browns 20-10 on Sunday afternoon. As time expired in Baltimore, the clock was also ticking down the final seconds in Kansas City, where a 19-7 Chiefs victory wrapped up a Ravens trip to the postseason for the sixth time in the last seven years. There is no not seeing the scoreboard. Its all over the place, Flacco said. Anything can happen when you get into the playoffs. Baltimore, which is the sixth seed in the AFC, failed to make the playoffs in 2013. The Ravens will travel to Pittsburgh next Saturday night to take on the AFC North-champion Steelers. The Browns led 10-3 heading into the fourth quarter before the Ravens ripped off 17 unanswered points to seize control. Flacco, who threw for 215 of his 312 yards in the second half, completed 22- of-36 passes for Baltimore (10-6), which won three of its last four games to close the regular season. Justin Forsett carried the ball 17 times for 119 yards, Torrey Smith caught four passes for 83 yards and a touchdown and Steve Smith added eight receptions for 90 yards in the triumph. Undrafted rookie Connor Shaw was 14-of-28 for 177 yards with an interception in his first NFL start for the Browns (7-9), who finished their campaign with five consecutive losses. We had our chances, Cleveland coach Mike Pettine said. I thought we executed our plan well for three quarters, just couldnt finish. Shaw got the nod after Johnny Manziel suffered a hamstring injury against Carolina last Sunday, while Brian Hoyer is dealing with shoulder and biceps injuries. Terrance West totaled 94 yards and a touchdown on the ground in defeat. Justin Tucker kicked a 28-yard field goal to get the Ravens within 10-6 early in the fourth, and Baltimores defense forced a pair of Cleveland three-and- outs on its next two possessions. Matched up 1-on-1 against Clevelands Joe Haden, Torrey Smith ran down the left sideline as Flacco lofted a deep pass and adjusted to the ball to haul in a 53-yard reception that got Baltimore in the red zone. Flacco fired a 16-yard TD pass in the back of the end zone to Torrey Smith a play later for a 13-10 Baltimore advantage with 7:33 left. Baltimore got the ball back just 33 seconds later. Forsett scampered for 27 yards down the right sideline and Flacco threw a 24-yard completion to Steve Smith to put the ball at the 3. Flacco later flipped a 2-yard score to Kamar Aiken in the front part of the end zone on third down to up the advantage to 20-10 with 3:44 remaining. Lardarius Webb intercepted Shaw with 2:28 on the clock to seal the outcome. Earlier, Shaw flipped a 30-yard pass to Jordan Cameron on Clevelands opening series, but Terrell Suggs recovered a Shaw fumble at the Baltimore 27. Flacco tossed completions of 17 and 21 yards to Michael Campanaro and Forsett, respectively, later in the opening quarter and a Buster Skrine pass interference penalty set the Ravens up with a 1st-and-goal at the 2. Bernard Pierce was stopped shy of the end zone on first and second down, Flacco missed Crockett Gillmore on third down and Baltimore coach John Harbaugh elected to go for it on fourth down from the 1. Forsett, though, lost three yards after he was met by a host of Browns. The Ravens finally opened the scoring midway through the second. Forsett broke off a 32-yard run off left tackle, which helped set up Tucker for a 25-yard field goal. Cleveland answered with three points on its ensuing series. West scampered for 36 yards along the left sideline and Garrett Hartley capped a 10-play, 55-yard march with a 38-yard field goal to tie the game late in the first half. The Browns went in front on their second possession of the third quarter, when West plunged in from two yards out for a 10-3 Browns cushion late in the frame. Game Notes Flacco improved to 13-1 all-time against the Browns ... Cleveland hasnt made the postseason in 12 years and finished with a losing record for a seventh season in a row ... Forsett had been held to just 67 yards combined over his last two games ... The Ravens outgained the Browns 419-259. Dick McGuire Jersey . Meanwhile, the Jets extended their winning streak to four and remain perfect under Paul Maurice. Its the Jets second four-game winning streak of the season, the other coming in mid-November. Bill Laimbeer Jersey . Off-season additions Jermain Defoe and Michael Bradley did not train with the club today, prompting Nelsen to declare its too early to tell if either will be ready for Saturday. https://www.cheappistonsonline.com/956y-ray-scott-jersey-pistons.html . -- Raiders wide receiver Jacoby Ford made it through a third straight practice without any setbacks and expects to play in Oaklands regular-season finale against San Diego. Blake Griffin Jersey . The photograph shows Parker and a French comedian making a gesture known in France as a "quenelle," which critics describe as inverted Nazi salute. Parker said in a statement released through the Spurs that the photograph was taken three years ago. Parker, who was born in Belgium but raised in France, said he didnt know at the time that "it could be in any way offensive or harmful. Jordan Bone Jersey . The football club recently announced an increase in season ticket prices in five of the seven categories at Investors Group Field for 2014. While most increases are in the two to three per cent range, the clubs most affordable season tickets will jump from $199 to $250 — a 26 per cent leap.Their season is just four days old, but the Seattle Mariners are off to an impressive 3-1 start. They swept the Angels, then lost a 3-2, 12-inning heartbreaker to the Oakland As on a Coco Crisp walk-off home run. The biggest story in my mind though was the performance of their number three starter James Paxton, in an 8-2 victory over the Halos. He pitched a two-hitter over seven innings and immediately threw himself into the mix for those to watch in the Rookie of the Year race this season. Paxton is a 64", 220-pound lefty who hails from Richmond, BC. Unfortunately for the Blue Jays, hes one that got away. Paxton was originally drafted by the Blue Jays 37th overall in 2009, but he chose not to sign. He intended to return to the University of Kentucky, but was ruled ineligible because he had signed an agreement with agent Scott Boras. Paxton went on to pitch briefly for the Independent Grand Prairie Airhogs of the American Association in 2010. That year he was drafted by the Mariners in the fourth round. With Hisashi Iwakuma and top prospect Taijuan Walker rehabbing from injuries, Paxton may be around for awhile and could be a key part of the Ms resurgence. Seattle has another impressive young lefty in their rotation in Cuban-born lefty Roenis Elias, who pitched well, but got saddled with a no-decision in the Mariners loss to the As. The only question coming into this season was over their ability to score runs, even with the addition of ex-Yankees star Robinson Cano. With this seeming wealth of starting pitching, the Ms may be able to deal for the bats they need as the season unfolds. Cano, by the way, is off to a decent start with Seattle, going 6 for 16 with a pair of intentional walks. Here and Now Theres no sense fretting now over the Jays not getting Paxton. Better to concentrate on the top two pitching prospects they do have. Marcus Stroman started the Buffalo Bisons season opener on Thursday against the Twins Rochester farm club, the Red Wings. He was on a pitch count and over four innings, made 73 pitches - 47 for strikes - gave up four hits and two earned runs, struck out three of the first four batters he faced and got a no decision in the Bisons 6-3 victory. The Bisons are veteran team, with 16 players on their roster who played in the Majors last season. Matt Tuiasosopo, who was just picked up on waivers last week from Arizona and then three days later was outrighted to Buffalo, led the attack with thrree hits.dddddddddddd After Stroman, the rest of the Buffalo rotation consists of Ricky Romero, Kyle Drabek, lefty Sean Nolin, who was briefly with the Jays, and Liam Hendricks. J.A. Happ is expected to join them as well in the near future on a rehab assignment. Bisons closer Neil Wagner, who figures to be up with the Jays at some point this season, struck out three of four batters and racked up the save. Blue Jays blue chip prospect Aaron Sanchez started opening night for Double "A" New Hampshire at Trenton. He was described as being dominant over his five-inning stint, giving up just one hit and striking out five while walking two. He also got the victory in the Fishercats 6-0 victory over Trenton. Fresh Start Emilio Bonifacio, who was a bust with the Blue Jays last season and eventually moved on to the Royals, signed with the Cubs as a free agent and is off to a torrid start at the plate with Chicago. Hes 11 for 16 with four stolen bases on the young season. Hes been batting lead-off and playing centre field. The Cubs - weather permitting - will be marking the 100th anniversary of Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon in their home opener against the Phillies. Great trivia question on Wrigley: name the only person to hit the scoreboard. Heres a clue, it wasnt a ball player. It was golf legend Slammin Sammy Snead. He teed off from homeplate in a publicity stunt and hit the 89 high scoreboard, which was 420 feet away on the fly. On his next try he hit it right over the scoreboard. Wrigley has also hosted two of the wildest games in Major League history. In the highest scoring game ever, the Cubs beat the Phillies 26-23 on August 25, 1922. The Phils got their revenge in 1979, 57 years later, when they edged the Cubs 23-22 in 10 innings. Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt hommered off Cubs closer Bruce Sutter to win it. The teams combined for 11 homers, including three by the Cubbies Dave Kingman. Roys Return Great move by the Blue Jays to get Roy Halladay to throw out the first pitch for their home opener Friday night at sold-out Rogers Centre against Derek Jeter and the Yankees. It makes you wonder if they will put Halladays name up on the "Level of Excellence" tonight or at some point down the road. The pitching match-up couldnt be more intriguing with the comeback king Dustin McGowan facing Japanese star Masahiro Tanaka, who will be making his first Major League start. ' ' '
