MONTREAL -- A university football player was reportedly arrested late Wednesday morning in a domestic violence case in Montreal. CTV Montreal reports that a 22-year-old man was arrested in an east-end apartment (on Jeanne-Mance St.) on charges of assault, threats and robbery. He was to appear in court on Thursday. I think hes driven to prove last year was just an odd year for him," Reese added. Mannings primary backup last year, Curtis Painter, recently underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and is out for about a month. He could be back for the teams minicamp in June. Reese expects heavy competition for the backup quarterback job among Painter, last years draft pick Ryan Nassib, and Josh Freeman, signed in April as a free agent.
