MIAMI -- The numbers are adding up for Giancarlo Stanton. So are the wins for the Miami Marlins. Stanton hit his major league-leading 32nd homer and drove in four runs Sunday, powering the Marlins past the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-3. Stanton has a career-high 88 RBIs, one more than he had in 2011. He went 7 for 14 with four walks and six RBIs in the four-game series against Arizona. "I think ultimately his numbers are going to speak for him when you talk about what he means to our ballclub and the intimidation factor that he brings to other ballclubs," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. "This guy just continues to get big hits." The Marlins have won five of seven and evened their record at 62-62, equaling their victory total from all of last year. "Its different coming to the field, its not a morgue in here every time you walk in and the black drapes and everything is drooping," Stanton said. Garrett Jones also homered for the Marlins. Marcell Ozuna and Jarrod Saltalamacchia each drove in two runs and Christian Yelich had three hits. Stanton hit a three-run home run in the first inning, surpassing Hanley Ramirez for second place on the clubs all-time list with 149 career homers. He also boosted his RBI total with a single in the seventh. "Thats good for me, I havent broke 100 yet here," Stanton said. "Its helping us win, thats more than any single accolade that I can have." Tom Koehler (9-9) pitched six innings, allowing two runs. Stanton hit a three-run homer and Jones also connected in the first against Josh Collmenter (8-7). "I dont how many times (Stanton) has hit a homer for me in the first inning, but I love it," Koehler said. Arizonas Ender Inciarte extended his hitting streak to 17 games with a bunt single in the sixth. "It was a bad thing that we couldnt keep them close," Inciarte said. "Weve got to be able to give ourselves a chance to in the game." Mark Trumbo and Jake Lamb hit RBI singles in the sixth that pulled Arizona within 5-2. The Marlins broke open the game by scoring five times in the seventh. Stanton hit an RBI single, Ozuna had a two-run double and Saltalamacchia singled home two runs. Diamondbacks reliever Randall Delgado was charged with five runs and got just one batter out. "You get down five runs and you chip away," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said. "We got two back and were at least in the picture there, but you have to hold them and we were unable to do that." This was Miamis highest-scoring game since an 11-6 win at Tampa Bay on June 5. "Weve all been waiting for one of those and give ourselves a real cushion so we dont have to pitch so perfect," Redmond said. TRAINERS ROOM Diamondbacks: RHP Daniel Hudson (Tommy John surgery) threw one scoreless inning on Saturday night in the Arizona League, allowing one hit and striking out one. UP NEXT Diamondbacks: Arizona travels to Washington for a four-game series beginning on Monday night. LHP Vidal Nuno (0-3, 3.92) starts against Nationals RHP Jordan Zimmermann (8-5, 2.92). Marlins: Off Monday, Miami will start RHP Jarred Cosart (1-1, 2.92) at home Tuesday night against Texas RHP Miles Mikolas (1-5, 7.71) to begin a two-game set. FAST START Stanton has hit 11 of his 32 home runs this season in the first inning, which is the second-highest total of first-inning homers in a season by a Marlins player. Gary Sheffield hit 14 in 1996. STREAKING Inciartes hitting string is the longest active streak in the majors and the longest ever by a Diamondbacks rookie. He is hitting .320 (24 for 75) during that stretch. "Hes a smart player and he utilizes his tools very well," Gibson said. "He plays hard." Flames Jerseys 2020 . “The shootout, theres nothing wrong with it, I think its an exciting part of the game but its just one small aspect,” said Chicago Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman. “Its a skill exhibition. If you can get it back closer to regular hockey and have it decided that way; that would be my preference.” “I dont think its a knock on the shootout, I think more of the managers would like to see it end in overtime,” added Washington Capitals GM George McPhee. Calgary Flames Gear . Compared to what hes gone through in recent weeks, that seemed like a breeze. Speaking to The Associated Press on Friday at an NBA Cares event, Silver said hes thrilled that the leagues attention can be on the championship series between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs -- and not, as it was for so much of the post-season, on the off-the-court matters involving the banishment of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling and now the looming sale of that franchise. https://www.cheapflames.com/. Algeria led 3-0 at halftime, but withstood a stronger South Korean second half performance to claim its first World Cup win since 1982 and move into second place in Group H with one match left to play. Defeat for South Korea means it must now beat already-qualified Belgium to stand a chance of progressing to the knockout stages. Calgary Flames Shirts . Zdeno Chara scored with 13 seconds left in regulation after David Krejci tied it late, lifting the Bruins to a 3-2 win over Pittsburgh on Saturday night in a game that saw Orpik taken from the ice on a stretcher. Flames Jerseys China . 1. AMIR JOHNSON: Nice to see him back in the lineup Tuesday night in Washington DC. Played with great energy and purpose. Its amazing when a guy gets those few precious days to recover what it does to the bounce in their step and overall game/confidence. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Rays are hopeful that a successful series against Houston is the start of a turnaround. Yunel Escobar drove in two runs during a three-run sixth inning and the Rays beat the Astors 5-2 on Sunday. Escobar hit a two-run single and Sean Rodriguez had an RBI grounder off Dallas Keuchel (8-5) to give the Rays a 4-2 lead in the sixth. The Rays are 8-18 over their past 26 games, including five wins in seven games against Houston. Tampa Bay took three of four in the weekend series. "We won, thats the bottom line," Rays third baseman Evan Longoria said. "Weve got a lot of work to do. We put ourselves in a pretty good hole, but I think that the belief on a daily basis is still we can come to the ballpark and win." Keuchel allowed five runs and nine hits in an eight-inning complete game. It was his third complete game this season. "We did some good things today against a tough pitcher," Longoria said. Dexter Fowler put the Astros up 1-0 when he hit the first pitch of the game from Erik Bedard into the left-field seats. It was his ninth career leadoff homer and third this season. Bedard, who was with Houston last season, gave up two runs and seven hits in 5 1-3 innings. Juan Carlos Oviedo (3-2) got two outs in the sixth for the win. Joel Peralta pitched the ninth for his first save. Rodriguez made it 5-2 on an eighth-inning sacrifice fly. Houston took a 2-1 lead in the third on Jose Altuves single. Jonathan Villar opened the inning with a double, was awarded a steal of third after a replay challenge resulted in an out call being overturned and scored on the hit by Altuve. Altuve has 13 hits in his past 24 at-bats. The Rays tied it at 1 in the bottom of the first on Longorias single Desmond Jennings wass caught attempting to steal home with Longoria batting to end the third, a call that was confirmed by a replay review.dddddddddddd After catcher Carlos Corporan threw the ball back to Keuchel, Jennings broke for the plate, but was tagged by Corporan after a return throw from Keuchel. "I know he does some uncharacteristic stuff," Kuechel said. "I dont turn my back from the guy on third, so I caught him out of the corner of my eye and just tried to get the ball out as soon as possible." "I still think Desmond was safe," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. "I think throughout this whole process, the think thats really standing out to me, Im into replay, I still believe there needs to be a separate group of umpires that are just out there specifically for replay only. That I hope would be the next step in regards to getting this thing nailed down." NOTES: SS Carlos Correa, taken first overall in the 2012 draft by the Astros, left Saturdays game with Class A Lancaster with a right ankle injury, which occurred while sliding. He will go on the disabled list. "Carlos was examined last night at a local hospital in California," Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said. "He will travel to Houston early this week to be evaluated further by the Astros medical staff before determining next steps." ...
