Since its the start of the NHL Playoffs and the NBA Playoffs are up next we thought that the best way to start would be with a few hockey moments and a very famous basketball one as well. THE MICHAEL JORDAN FLU GAME First this famous basketball moment. The story goes like this. “Game 5, known as "The Flu Game", was one of Michael Jordans most memorable. At 2 a.m on Tuesday morning, Jordan called his personal trainer to his hotel room, where he was lying in the fetal position and sweating profusely. He hardly had the strength to sit up in bed and was diagnosed with a stomach virus or food poisoning, likely caused by a pizza ordered the night before. The Bulls trainers told Jordan that there was no way he could play the next day. The Jazz had just won Games 3 & 4 to tie the series at 2 wins apiece, and a third consecutive win would give them the momentum. The Bulls needed their leader for this critical swing game, and despite his ailments, Jordan got out of bed at 5:50 p.m on Wednesday, just in time for the 7 oclock tip-off at the Delta Center.” Heres what it would have looked like if MJ took to Twitter: Heres a look at that Flu Game: PATRICK ROY VS JEREMY ROENICK Next up, the infamous war of words between Patrick Roy and Jeremy Roenick. Heres the set up, it was the 1996 Western Conference Semi Finals, Jeremy Roenick was hauled down on a breakaway late in the series and he got upset that a penalty was not called. When asked about it Patrick Roy responded with "I would have saved it anyway”. Roenick didnt take Roys comment lightly. In a separate interview, J.R. gave his response. "Id like to know where Patrick was in Game 3 (a game in which Roenick had scored on Patrick Roy on a similar breakaway)," he continued with "Probably up trying to get his jock out of the rafters." Patrick had the last laugh on and off the ice with one of the greatest quotes in hockey history: "I cannot really hear what Jeremy says because Ive got my two Stanley Cup rings plugging my ear,". Roy and the Avalanche won the series and then the Stanley Cup. Heres what it would have looked like if they guys had Twitter: Heres the video of the whole event: AL MICHAELS “DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES”Historic moments will always a part of sports, but rarely is a single event captured in a phrase, spoken just at the right moment. That is exactly what happened when Al Michaels exclaimed“Do you believe in miracles? Yes!” during the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. Michaels said those words (while along side Ken Dryden) with six seconds left on the clock in what is arguably the most dramatic game and most unbelievable upset in sports history. To this day it is regularly quoted and a movie was even made using a title from his call.Heres what it would have looked like if he Tweeted it: We hope you enjoyed those Tweets in sports history, please let us know if you have suggestions for future moments you would like to see “If They Tweeted” by tweeting us @BarDown Air Max 97 Plus Cheap Wholesale . Kamloops, B.C., the host city of this years Tim Hortons Brier, is where he won his first Canadian mens curling crown in 1996. CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Pro Bowl receiver A.J. Green didnt practice on Wednesday because of an injured big toe on his right foot, limited to walking around the practice field in sweats holding a football. The Bengals havent ruled him out for Sunday against Tennessee (1-1) at Paul Brown Stadium. They could sit him for the game, giving him an additional week to heal heading into Cincinnatis bye. Also on Wednesday, the Bengals said that Pro Bowl linebacker Vontaze Burfict had more concussion symptoms, leaving his availability for the game in doubt. Burfict had a concussion during an opening 23-16 victory in Baltimore, but was back for a game last Sunday against Atlanta. Burfict came out of the 24-10 win after a teammates knee hit his helmet. He initially complained of symptoms that indicated a pinched nerve in his neck. He also was showing concussion symptoms on Wednesday. Cincinnati (2-0) could be without its top players on offence and defence this week, although Green hasnt yet given up on his chances of playing. "Its getting better," Green said, after getting treatment on Wednesday. "Anytime Im not on the field, I feel like Im letting my teammates down. Even though we came out with the win, I still feel bad. But its something I cant control. Im just trying my best to get back." Green said he hurt the foot during the win in Baltimore. He played the full game and made a decisive 77-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter. The foot bothered him last wweek, limiting him in practice.dddddddddddd. He decided to see if he could play Sunday against the Falcons, but came off the field during the first drive. "I knew it was still a little tender, but I thought I could make it through," said Green, who talked to the media about the injury for the first time on Wednesday. "But I couldnt get my full extension on my foot and I need that to run my routes. I didnt want to go out there and hurt myself even more." It was the first time in his career that he failed to catch a pass in a game. Green said the biggest problem is his inability to push off with the foot as he runs his routes. "I do everything off my foot," he said. "Its just getting the range of motion back on that big toe. Thats the biggest thing, because Im always on that." The Bengals are one of seven undefeated teams despite losing several key players. Receiver Marvin Jones broke a bone in his left foot during training camp and is expected back in a few weeks. Tight end Tyler Eifert hurt his right elbow in Baltimore and will miss at least half the season. In addition to Green and Burfict, the Bengals had tight end Alex Smith (biceps) and guard Kevin Zeitler (right calf) get hurt on Sunday. Smith went on injured reserve. Zeitler is wearing a boot and walking on crutches. Backup guard Mike Pollak missed practice on Wednesday with a sore knee. Left tackle Andrew Whitworth rested a sore knee. ' ' '
