Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Twins avoided arbitration with outfielder Jordan Schafer on Friday by agreeing to terms on a one-year contract for $1.55 million. Schafer hit .285 with one homer and 13 RBI in 41 games with the Twins last season after being selected off waivers from the Braves in August. The 28-year-old Schafer, who will be in the mix for the starting center field spot with Aaron Hicks, has hit .229 with 12 homers, 80 RBI and 103 stolen bases in 436 career games with the Astros, Braves and Twins.
