TORONTO - Unbeaten Toronto FC faces a test of its depth Saturday when it visits Real Salt Lake. See the game live on TSN2 at 9:30pm et/6:30pm pt. Brazilian winger Jackson is suspended for the game at Rio Tinto Stadium while Canadian midfielder Jonathan Osorio left practice early Friday, seemingly favouring his right hamstring. Manager Ryan Nelsen said Osorio has been nursing a hamstring strain. During the portion of Fridays training session open to the media, Mark Bloom was playing in place of Jackson on the right flank, with Englands Bradley Orr taking over at fullback behind him. "We dont have a great deal of options at the moment there but weve got a bit of versatility with Bloomie being able to play both positions and now Brad Orrs getting fit," said Nelsen. Jeremy Hall slotted into central midfield alongside U.S. international Michael Bradley when Osorio exited. Attacking midfielder Dwayne De Rosario remains another option — more likely playing wide left or coming on as an impact substitute — with Canadian international midfielder Issey Nakajima-Farran a newly signed, speedy asset on the flank. But Nelsen has shown faith in the 26-year-old Bloom. Toronto (2-0-0) is off to its best ever start with wins in Seattle and at home against D.C. United. But there are concerns over its depth outside the starting lineup with Nelsen looking to reinforce the 12 through 20 members of the roster. Real Salt Lake (1-0-2) has played two of its first three games on the road, with a home-and-away series with the Los Angeles Galaxy already in the books. While RSL has some injury concerns of its own, the team is a veteran outfit that is used to playing 4,500 feet above sea level. England striker Jerman Defoe says he is no stranger to playing at altitude after his experience at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He saw the bigger challenge in the experience of Real Salt Lake. "Its going to a massive test for us to go there and try to win the game," he said. "But at the minute, were confident. Everyones playing well, everyones fit. We just look forward to it." De Rosario, who helped D.C. United beat Real Salt Lake in the U.S. Open Cup final in Sandy, Utah, last season, agreed. "Its a team thats been together for quite some time. A team that has a very distinguished system and they stay true to that. And theyre very good at home." Now in its 10th MLS season, Real Salt Lake is 74-31-39 at home in regular-season league play. In its eighth MLS campaign, Torontos road record is 15-72-25. But most of Torontos past record for futility can be thrown out, with such marquee reinforcements as Defoe, Bradley, De Rosario and Brazilian striker Gilberto and goalkeeper Julio Cesar. Real Salt Lake has injury concerns up front with Robbie Findley yet to play this season and former TFC player Joao Plata sidelined due to a hamstring strain. Plata, a five-foot-two 135-pound ball of Ecuadorian energy, has been red-hot to start the season with two goals and two assists in three games. Alvaro Saborio and Olmes Garcia are expected to start at forward although Devon Sandoval could return from a foot injury. Defender Aaron Maund, another Toronto FC alumnus, and midfielder Sebastian Velasquez, are also sidelined. Jordan Allen and Kwame Watson-Siriboe are listed as questionable. RSL can still field a veteran lineup, however, led by the likes of midfielder Kyle Beckerman and goalkeeper Nick Rimando, both U.S. internationals. After playing a poor pitch at BMO Field in its home opener, Toronto wont see much of an improvement in the Rio Tinto Stadium surface. "Its in really bad shape," said Beckerman. NOTES — Toronto is 1-5-0 lifetime in Utah ... RSL edged Toronto 3-2 on a stoppage-time goal the last time the clubs met in Utah, on April 28, 2012. Only Doneil Henry, Ashtone Morgan and Quillan Roberts remain with the club from Torontos 18-man roster that day ... Nelsen says the cub has talked to Jackson about resisting the temptation to retaliate when provoked on the field. Nike Shoes Sale . Quarterback Drew Willy appeared to injure his throwing hand on the third last play of practice Thursday.WASHINGTON -- Neither Charlie Manuel nor Jimmy Rollins can remember a stretch quite like the one Philadelphia is enduring now. Stephen Strasburg pitched a four-hitter and struck out 10 in the first complete game of his career, Jayson Werth had his second straight three-hit game and the Washington Nationals completed a three-game sweep with a 6-0 victory over the Phillies on Sunday night. Outscored 23-7 over the weekend, Philadelphia has lost 17 of 20. The Phillies never had a runner in scoring position during their 11th straight road loss. "Its been tough," Manuel said. "Since Ive been managing in the major leagues, this is definitely the toughest stretch weve ever had." The sweep denied Manuel the 1,000th win of his managing career. At 52-65, the Phillies are three games behind the third-place Mets in the NL East and open a three-game series Monday in Atlanta. "Id have to go back and look, but I dont think Ive ever had a stretch like this either," shortstop Rollins said. "Weve had some stretches where we lost some games in a row, but wed find a way to put some wins in a row right after that. But it isnt happening right now." Kevin Frandsen had two of the Phillies four hits. Philadelphia had not been swept by the Nationals-Expos franchise in a series of three games or more since losing a four-game series from August 25-28, 2003, while in Montreal. "Some games were losing were getting outplayed, but some games were not making the right plays," Rollins said. "Were not making pitches, were not getting the hits, and that makes it very tough when youre out there playing and youre battling and you hope to come up with the big hit. Sometimes you will, sometimes you wont. We havent at all." Strasburg (6-9) dominated the reeling Phillies for his first win since July 7 against San Diego. The Nationals had lost five straight games started by the right-hander. "Hed get ahead of us with either his fastball or his breaking ball. Hes tough," Mannuel said.dddddddddddd "His breaking ball really set up his fastball later in the middle innings until the end of the game. He was good. Power when he wanted it." Washington scored two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth against Kyle Kendrick (10-9), who surrendered 11 hits -- all singles -- over 5 1-3 innings. Making his fourth start against the Nationals this season, Kendrick allowed six runs, four earned. Hes 3-5 in his last eight starts with a 7.07 ERA. "Its just been frustrating the last few starts for me," Kendrick said. Werth, who had a go-ahead, two-run homer among his three hits Saturday, delivered an RBI single in the first inning to give Washington a 1-0 lead. Steve Lombardozzi also had three hits, including an RBI single. In between wins, Strasburg went 0-3 with 4.93 ERA in five starts. Two of Strasburgs six victories on the season have come against the Phillies. Strasburgs biggest stress came starting the second inning. He winced after throwing a second straight ball to Domonic Brown, leading to a visit from the Nationals training staff. After walking Brown on four pitches -- the only walk he issued -- Strasburg struck out Darin Ruf and Cody Asche on his way to retiring 14 of the next 15 batters. The right-hander has allowed two or fewer runs in 11 of 13 home starts. "It felt good," Strasburg said of finishing the game. "Its something that you try and do every time out. Ive learned how to go out there and get outs with less pitches." Wilson Ramos and Denard Span each had RBI singles in the fourth inning. Chase Utleys throwing error in the fifth allowed two runners to score. Lombardozzi tacked on an RBI single for the Nationals third run of the inning. Notes: Philadelphias last road win came July 19 at Cincinnati in its first game after the All-Star break. ... Brown has a six-game hitting streak. . The Phillies road trip continues at Atlanta on Monday with LHP Cole Hamels (4-13, 3.81 ERA) facing RHP Julio Teheran (9-5, 2.96). ' ' '
