The Yankees said Tuesday that the switch-hitter had the operation Monday at NYU Hospital. The surgery was performed by Dr. Keith Raskin and "went as planned." The team has previously said Teixeira will miss the rest of the season. Teixeira was injured in early March preparing for the World Baseball Classic with Team USA.
