The Seattle Seahawks coach said Monday he supports commissioner Roger Goodells message last week that the league could consider medicinal marijuana as a treatment if science proved it could be beneficial for players who have suffered concussions. Carroll says regardless of the stigmas involved, the medicinal value should be examined, "because the world of medicine is trying to do the exact same thing and figure it out and theyre coming to some conclusions." Brothers gave up Headleys leadoff homer in the ninth inning to tie the game and pinch-hitter Jesus Guzman then singled in the winning run, lifting the San Diego Padres to a 4-3 victory over the Rockies on Friday night. "You make bad pitches, you get beat in this league," Brothers said. "I dont know if I made a single (good) pitch." Brothers (2-1) fell behind 2-0, then grooved a fastball that Headley hit off the facing of the third deck of the brick Western Metal Supply Co. building in left field to tie the game at 3-all for his 10th homer. "Hes a guy you dont want to get deep in the count with," Headley said. "I could afford to look for (a fastball). 2-0, youre looking for a fastball, middle in and fortunately, he threw it there." Guzmans single with the bases loaded and one out, went over third base and scored Kyle Blanks with the winning run. "I havent felt as good of late," Brothers said. But Denorfia slide wide to avoid the tag and just got his hand on the corner of the plate.
